Effective August 7, 2006, American Woodmark Corporation (AWC) (NASDAQ: AMWD), a leading supplier of cabinetry to the new home construction and remodeling industries, has appointed Sanders (Sandy) Holston Jr., director of product quality. Holston will succeed Tom McLarty, who will to retire on December 31, 2006. Reporting to Perry Campbell, vice president of quality, Holston’s responsibilities include developing processes and programs that support the production of products that meet or exceed customer expectations.

“Sandy’s extensive experience in quality, process engineering and manufacturing management makes him an ideal selection for this position,” says Campbell. “We look forward to his contributions to the team.”

Holston comes to American Woodmark from Baker Furniture, a division of the Kohler Company, where he served as corporate manager of quality, continuous improvement and process engineering. Prior to that, he held various manufacturing, quality and purchasing positions over a 20-year period with Corning and Corning Cable Systems. Holston graduated from the United States Military Academy, West Point, with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.
