Effective immediately, American Woodmark Corporation (AWC) (NASDAQ: AMWD), a leading supplier of cabinetry to the new home construction and remodeling industries, has appointed Steve Rainey Burns divisional materials manager assembly/east. Reporting to Dave Johnson, corporate materials manager, Burns will be responsible for making process improvements at the Allegany, Berryville and Jackson assembly plants.

“Steve’s extensive background in materials management makes him a perfect fit for this position here at American Woodmark,” says Johnson. “We look forward to working with him and to his contributions to the team.”

Burns comes to American Woodmark from his role as materials manager for General Electric in Winchester, Va. Prior to that, he held various positions at the Lear Corporation, also in Winchester. Burns holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Virginia Tech, and a Masters of Business Administration degree from James Madison University.
