AWC/Sub-Zero Partnership Helps Recognize Up and Coming Designers

As the official sponsors of the NKBA 2006 Student Design Competition, American Woodmark Corporation, a leading supplier of cabinetry to the new construction and remodeling industry, and Sub-Zero Freezer/Wolf Appliance Company, are hosting a dinner and cocktail event to honor this year’s winners. This event will occur in Chicago on April 21, 2006 at the House of Blues Foundation Room in conjunction with the Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (K/BIS).

Of the 127 kitchen entries and 62 bathroom entries, only six students were selected from each category to represent the best of the best in this year’s student design competition. In the kitchen category, there were three place winners and three honorable mentions awarded. This year’s winners are:

• 1st Place: Manda Glover – Washington State University, Pullman, WA

• 2nd Place: Elizabeth Schupanitz – Century College, Minneapolis, MN

• 3rd Place: Krysten Robbins – Weber State University, Ogden, UT

• Honorable Mentions: Dario Salcido – West Valley College, Saratoga, CA

Kristen Arnold – Weber State University, Ogden, UT

Genevieve Trousdale – University of Georgia, Athens, GA

There were three place winners and two honorable mentions awarded in the bathroom category. This year’s winners are:

• 1st Place: Frances Hughston – Lakeland College, Vermilion, AB, Canada

• 2nd Place: Erin Flynn – University of Nebraska, Kearney, Kearney, NE

• 3rd Place: Jenny Stahla – University of Nebraska, Kearney, Kearney, NE

• Honorable Mention: Brittany Burns – University of North Alabama, Florence, AL

Jessica Maurer – Century College, Minneapolis, MN

The place winners in each category will be honored at the American Woodmark/Sub-Zero/Wolf Appliance event on Friday evening.
