ADEX-Platinum-logo-08_clean_1Shenandoah Cabinetry®, sold exclusively at Lowe’s, and American Woodmark®, sold exclusively at The Home Depot, have received Design Journal Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) in the Cabinetry category. Shenandoah received the Platinum Award for its Solana Collection® in White Thermo Foil and American Woodmark received the Gold Award for its StorageSystems program.

The annual ADEX Awards is the largest and most prestigious awards competition for furnishings in the architecture and design industry. Design Journal, a national trade publication for interior design professionals, sponsors the ADEX awards for products exhibiting superior design based on form, function and style. Products are judged by an anonymous panel of professionals representing a cross section of the design industry.

“We strive for excellence in cabinetry design and are honored that our efforts have been recognized by such an esteemed publication,” says Bryan Earl, vice president of corporate and marketing communications for American Woodmark Corporation. “Winning an award such as the ADEX endorses our company’s dedication to developing stylish and functional cabinetry products that fulfill the needs of both designers and consumers.”

This year’s ADEX Awards attracted more than 500 companies submitting approximately 2,000 innovative new products. Each category has potential for three award levels: platinum, gold or silver. Judges award points in several categories for each entry. Total points earned determine each product’s score. Minimum scores are needed to qualify for awards. Winners will be published in the summer issue of Design Journal.

About Solana in White Thermo Foil
Shenandoah Cabinetry continuously brings to market on-trend designs that meet consumer demand for contemporary luxury at an affordable price. Inspired by widely popular trends in contemporary styling, Solana is now offered in White Thermo Foil. The door features a design focused on clean lines and innovative detailed framing. White Thermo Foil is created with a high-tech process whereby a thick vinyl film is bonded permanently to a warp-resistant engineered-wood core. Because the color is throughout the film, the surface is durable, easy to clean and especially resistant to chipping and cracking.
