Shenandoah Cabinetry®, sold exclusively at Lowe’s, has received the Design Journal Platinum Award for Design Excellence (ADEX), in the Cabinetry category for the recently launched Solana Collection™.

The annual ADEX Awards is the largest and most prestigious awards competition for furnishings in the architecture and design industry. Design Journal, a national trade publication for interior design professionals, sponsors the ADEX awards for products exhibiting superior design based on form, function and style. Products are judged by an anonymous panel of professionals representing a cross section of the design industry.

“The design community is an integral audience for us and winning the ADEX award demonstrates we are getting their attention,” says Max Caldas, director of marketing for the Lowe’s account at American Woodmark Corporation. “Winning an award as prestigious as the Platinum ADEX shows our company’s dedication to bringing to market the most on-trend designs that meet both designer and consumer needs for aesthetically pleasing and functional cabinetry.”

This year’s ADEX Awards attracted over 500 companies submitting approximately 2,000 innovative new products. Each category has potential for three award levels: platinum, gold or silver. Judges award points in several categories for each entry. Total points earned determine each product’s score. Minimum scores are needed to qualify for awards. Winners will be published in the summer issue of Design Journal.

About the Solana Collection

The Solana Collection is inspired by the widely popular trends in contemporary styling. It is available in Spice, Bordeaux and Chocolate Glaze finishes on Cherry hardwood, and in Natural, Honey, Spice, Mocha Glaze and Coffee Glaze finishes on Maple hardwood. The understated grace of the Solana Collection is heightened by the lines of the cascading door profile and the decorative three piece drawer front. This full overlay door style with extra-wide 3-inch frame and cascading top and bottom rails envelop a veneer flat panel for a distinctive and versatile choice. Additionally, the strong, simplistic lines of the collection emphasize the contemporary look of the square door lending itself to many decorating themes, while the detail on the rails provides a place for glaze accent.
