Built-in Cabinetry Enhances Design and Functionality Throughout 2008 New American Home®

Celebrating it’s 25th year as the official show home of the International Builders’ Show,® The New American Home® has announced it will be the first show home certified under the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) new Green Building Program. The highly anticipated launch of the program will take place at the show on “Green Day,” February 14. Timberlake® Cabinetry, a leading supplier of cabinetry to the home building and remodeling markets, has been selected as the official cabinetry supplier and sponsor of the home and will host a special event and private-guided tour open to the media February 13 from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. The New American Home, a collaboration between The National Council of the Housing Industry (NCHI) and Buildermagazine, will be the first real-life example of what it means to build a completely green home.

Showcasing the latest products from leading manufacturers, the 6,725-square foot plantation-style home, built in the exclusive Water’s Edge section of Lake Nona, offers modern conveniences and stately designs. Each component of the home was selected and integrated into the project through a systems approach, working together in harmony to achieve maximum performance and dedicated to eco-friendly construction practices.

“The building industry, over the last several years, has increasingly placed its focus on finding new products and technologies to preserve the environment,” says Don Repshas, vice president of marketing for Timberlake. “As a brand committed to conducting business in a manner that both protects the environment and provides extremely well-crafted, attractively designed products, we are honored and proud to provide cabinetry throughout the home.”

In addition to being recognized as part of the first show home certified by NAHB’s Green Building Program, Timberlake Cabinetry has also received certification by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) Environmental Stewardship Program on their entire line of products. Timberlake created beautifully designed, environmentally friendly cabinetry for 15 rooms throughout the home, including: the primary kitchen, a family suite kitchenette, a morning kitchen, four bathrooms, a home theater, a craft room and a utility room.

The cabinetry is designed to provide both functionality and style. From the elegant design of the master bathroom to the contemporary family suite, Timberlake cabinets add a custom look that compliments the home’s modern adaptation of a plantation style.
