This day celebrates the contributions of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Sara Foreman, who has been with American Woodmark for over eight years, shared her journey in engineering and the significant role that the company has played in her growth.
Sara was drawn to Industrial and Systems Engineering because of her love for math, science, and complex problem-solving, especially process flow and optimization. At American Woodmark, she has been able to pursue her passion through various roles, starting as a Supervisor, then as a Quality Engineer, and now as a Program Manager focused on platform design. Each position has given her the opportunity to work on interesting projects that allow her to implement process improvements and enhance overall flow.
In her current role, Sara's team has a company-wide influence on systems thinking and platform design strategy. She is grateful that American Woodmark is actively contributing to her growth and the ongoing pursuit of the engineering experience.
Sara's story is a testament to the importance of having opportunities to grow and develop in the workplace. American Woodmark's commitment to supporting and empowering women in STEM is commendable, and we hope that more companies will follow their lead in promoting diversity and inclusion in the field. Happy International Women in STEM Day to all the amazing women out there making a difference in the world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics!
