President and Chief Executive Officer

Scott Culbreth

Scott Culbreth serves as the president and chief executive officer for American Woodmark. He joined the company in 2014 as the senior vice president and chief financial officer. He was promoted to CEO and joined the Board of Directors in 2020.

Scott received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. He began his career with Shell Oil Company and developed his international operational skills with Robert Bosch Corporation, Newell Brands and Piedmont Hardware Brands, where he held various financial roles with increasing responsibility.

Cultural values and company performance brought Scott to American Woodmark where he continually seeks to live his life as a servant leader each and every day. He is passionate about developing himself and his team, rising to meet challenges, challenging mental models and striving to always improve. In addition, Scott serves as an independent director on the board at Flexsteel Industries, Inc.

A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Scott and his wife live in Winchester, Virginia. They enjoy visiting their two daughters, hiking, traveling and attending Virginia Tech Hokie and Carolina Panther football games.

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Paul Joachimczyk

Paul Joachimczyk is the senior vice president and chief financial officer for American Woodmark. He joined the company in 2019 as vice president of financial planning and analysis. He was promoted to vice president and chief financial officer leading all financial matters and helping set the strategic direction for the company to ensure long-term fiscal stability in 2020, and was then promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer in 2022.

Paul received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. He began his career with Ernst and Young, LLC. For the past 15 years he has been in leadership and financial roles working for the General Electric Company, Stanley Black & Decker, Inc., and TopBuild Corp. He brings 20+ years of progressive experience in financial matters through his roles at several multinational corporations.

American Woodmark’s culture was the main driving factor behind Paul’s decision to join the company. He truly believes that people should be treated with dignity and respect both at work and throughout their entire lives. He takes the time to reflect on current decisions, strives to be better each day, and inspires the same in his team members.

Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Technical Operations

Rob Adams

Rob Adams is the senior vice president of manufacturing and technical operations for American Woodmark. He joined the company in 2008 as vice president of engineering, was promoted to vice president of manufacturing and engineering in 2012, and then promoted to senior vice president of manufacturing and technical operations in 2015.

As senior vice president of manufacturing and technical operations, Rob leads all aspects of operations, including manufacturing, logistics, materials, engineering, and quality.

Rob received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in management from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has 30 years of progressive operations, engineering, and general management experience across a variety of global corporations.

Rob challenges himself daily to be deliberate and intentional in driving the applications of technology and innovation. His typical day is spent searching for the art of what’s possible and identifying new solutions to solve problems in the disparate areas of the value stream process.

Prior to joining the company, Rob gained 20 years of operations, general management, and engineering experience at Diamond Innovations (GE Superabrasives), a leading supplier of industrial diamonds, and Techneglas (Owens-Illinois), a manufacturer of glass components and resins. Rob’s leadership development is rooted in performance management and servant leadership—both of which are recognized as critical attributes of the culture within American Woodmark. As a vision-driven, values-based company, American Woodmark has afforded Rob the opportunity to positively impact the lives of many individuals, while also fostering his own personal growth.

Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Kim Coldiron

Kim Coldiron is the senior vice president and chief human resources officer for American Woodmark. She joined the company in 2021 as vice president and chief human resources officer with responsibility for HR strategy and leadership of people and talent. She was promoted to senior vice president and CHRO in 2023.

Kim Coldiron is a Purdue University alumnus and received an MBA from Krannert School of Management and an International Master’s in Management from TIAS School for Business & Society, Netherlands. She joined the company with more than two decades of global experience in human resources leadership and expertise across various industries and disciplines including finance, supply chain, and labor relations.

Kim believes building credibility and driving value through human resources starts with cultivating partnerships and having a deep understanding of the business. She is passionate about the employee experience and advocates that a culture of excellence begins with fostering an engaging and inclusive environment where all employees can add value and contribute to their collective success.

Senior Vice President, Remodel Sales

Dwayne Medlin

Dwayne Medlin is the senior vice president of remodel sales at American Woodmark bringing over 33 years of sales and merchandising leadership to the organization.  He joined the company as a result of the RSI acquisition in 2017, where he served as Senior Vice President of Sales for RSI.  Post acquisition, he has held roles of VP - Home Center Sales and VP - Remodel Sales for American Woodmark.

Dwayne received his bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Texas - San Antonio.  He began his career with Builder's Square, and over the next 18 years developed his merchandising and sales leadership skills with increasing levels of responsibility at two of the nation's largest retailers Sears, Roebuck & Co. and The Home Depot before joining American Woodmark.  

Teamwork and Excellence are two of American Woodmark's cultural elements that resonate with Dwayne.  His unwavering focus on navigating market complexities, expanding market share, and working cross functionally to deliver value to customers and stakeholders are integral to the company's strategic objectives.  

A native Texan, Dwayne and his wife live in Winchester, Virginia.  They enjoy spending time with family, outdoor activities and travelling.

Vance W. Tang

Vance Tang joined the Board of Directors in 2009 and has served as non-executive chairman since 2020.

Additionally, he served as president and chief executive officer of the U.S. subsidiary of KONE Corporation, a Finnish public company and a leading global provider of elevators and escalators, and executive vice president of KONE Corporation from 2007 to 2012. Presently, he acts as director of Comfort Systems USA, a publicly traded provider of commercial and industrial specialty contracting, including HVAC, electrical, security, and building automation installation and services, and president of VanTegrity Consulting, focusing on leadership and growth strategies, both positions he has held since 2012. Vance’s 29-year career in industry has been highlighted with leadership roles in operations. Vance’s former experience as a chief executive officer in the construction industry provides the Board with a valuable strategic perspective.

Latasha Akoma

Latasha Akoma joined the Board of Directors in 2022.

She is an Operating Partner at GenNx360 Capital Partners (a private equity firm that specializes in middle market companies and operations specialists) from 2014 to present and interim Chief Compliance Officer in 2021; Board Member, Lion Electic from 2022 to present. Ms. Akoma’s experience in operations and manufacturing provides the Board with a valuable perspective.

Previously, Latasha has held several executive leadership positions at Harley-Davidson Motor Company (HDMC). She joined HDMC as the Director of Operations in 2009 and was responsible for vehicle assembly and materials management. In 2011, she was promoted to General Manager of Tomahawk Operations where she was responsible for two facilities, implementing a new labor agreement, lean manufacturing, and productivity and steering one of Harley-Davidson’s most significant motorcycle launches.

Prior to joining Harley-Davidson, Latasha was a Senior Manager of Paint Operations at Chrysler (formerly DaimlerChrysler) where she held a variety of senior leadership positions in operations and general management.

Latasha’s experience in operations and manufacturing provides the board with a valuable perspective.

Andrew B. Cogan

Andrew Cogan joined the Board of Directors in 2009.

He currently acts as director and chief executive officer at Sonneman - A Way of Light. Sonneman offers a current lighting collection of over a thousand designs ranging from Warm Contemporary to Ornamental Modernism and Modernist styles. In addition, he serves as chairman for The Rug Company, which is recognized internationally as the leading name for contemporary handmade rugs, and serves as director for Kwalu, which offers seating and tables to casegoods, each piece reflects refreshingly contemporary aesthetics and timeless sophistication.

Previously, he served as chief executive officer at Knoll, Inc. from April 2001 to May 2016. Additionally, he has served as director at Knoll, Inc. since 2013. Andrew’s 25-year career in the manufacturing industry has been highlighted with leadership roles in design and marketing. His experience as a chief executive officer of a publicly traded company provides the Board with a valuable perspective.

James G. Davis

James Davis joined the Board of Directors in 2002.

He is the chief executive officer at James G. Davis Construction Corporation, a private commercial general contractor, a position he has held since 1979. He served as the director at Provident Bankshares Corporation, a public company and financial institution from October 2006 to July 2009. James’s career in the construction industry has been highlighted with leadership roles in operations. Davis’s experience as a chief executive officer of a construction company provides the Board with an important industry perspective.

Daniel T. Hendrix

Daniel Hendrix joined the Board of Directors in 2005.

Now retired, he served as chairman of Interface, Inc., a public company and manufacturer of modular flooring products, a position he held from 2011 to 2024, and director since 1996. Previously, he acted as president and chief executive officer from July 2001 to March 2017. Daniel’s 34-year career in the building products industry has been highlighted with leadership roles in finance and operations. Hendrix’s experience as a chief executive officer of a publicly traded company in the building products industry provides the Board with an important industry perspective.

David Rodriguez

David Rodriguez joined the Board of Directors in 2020.

Now retired, he served as the executive vice president and global chief human resources officer at Marriott International, where he lead the human capital strategy for approximately 700,000 associates at nearly 7,500 properties in 135 countries and territories. David also currently serves on the Board of Globe Life Inc. and the Board of Trustees for the SIOP Foundation. David received his PhD in industrial and organizational psychology from New York University. Previously, he served in a senior role in human resources at Citigroup, Inc. and as an industrial and organizational psychologist at Avon Products Co. Ltd. Rodriguez’s career has been highlighted with senior leadership roles in human resources culminating with induction as a fellow of the National Academy of Human Resources. His experience with the complexity and requirements of a publicly traded business-to-business and consumer-facing company provides the Board with a valuable perspective.

Emily Videtto

Emily Videtto joined the Board of Directors in 2021.

She currently serves as president and chief operating officer of Pella Corporation, a leading manufacturer of windows and doors, where she previously served as executive vice president of sales and marketing (2021-2024) and chief marketing officer (2016-2021). Prior to her time at Pella Corporation, Emily held various leadership roles with increasing responsibility at GAF, a leading roofing manufacturer in North America. Emily’s experience in the consumer durables space, as well as her expertise around marketing, digital, and innovation, provides the Board with a valuable perspective.

Philip Fracassa

Philip Fracassa joined the Board of Directors in 2024.

Mr. Fracassa has served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of The Timken Company (NYSE: TKR), a global leader in engineered bearings and industrial motion products, since 2014.

Fracassa joined Timken in 2005 and progressed through several key roles during his tenure, including senior vice president – tax and treasury, senior vice president and group controller, and senior vice president – corporate planning and development. Prior to joining Timken, Fracassa was director of taxes for Visteon Corporation. He began his career with Price Waterhouse in Detroit and later served as a tax attorney with General Motors.

Fracassa is a member of the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation (MAPI). In addition, he serves as a member of the board for both Walsh University (Ohio) and the American Red Cross of Northeast Ohio.

Fracassa holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a juris doctor degree in law from the University of Detroit Mercy. In addition, he completed the advanced management program at INSEAD in France. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) and licensed attorney in the state of Michigan.
