Our board of directors established the Jeffrey S. Holcomb Scholarship to honor and remember the leadership and service given to American Woodmark by Jeffrey S. Holcomb, a founder, director and vice president of finance. The scholarship is awarded once a year to the child of an employee after being hand-selected by an independent outside advisory committee.
Beck’s accomplishments include his exemplary academic record, robust extracurricular activities including his membership as a Promising Appalachian Leaders in Service and Future Business Leaders of America, and demonstrated leadership skills as senior class president, team captain of his soccer team and a representative of Kentucky’s youth at the annual Children’s Advocacy Day.
Beck plans to attend Centre College in Danville, Kentucky with a major in biology on the pre-medicine track. His chosen path in the medical field was inspired after his mother’s fight against cancer. Specifically, Beck wants to become an ophthalmologist to help people with worsening vision, as dedicated doctors and nurses helped his mother after the side effects from cancer affected her eyesight.
We can’t wait to see where this path leads him. Congratulations, Conlan!
